Delia González de Reufels

Delia González de Reufels is professor for Latin American History at Universität Bremen, Germany. She is currently researching the history of the development and diffusion of social policies in the Cono Sur as part of the interdisciplinary collective projects at the Collaborative Research Center CRC 1342: http://www.socialpolicydynamics.de/projects. Her research interests include Latin American population history, Latin American military history, the history of migration and the intersection between history and film. Her research focuses on the following countries and regions: Mexico, Haiti, and the Cono Sur.

In 2008 she was “scholar in residence” at the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., and visiting professor at the Sorbonne University (Université Paris 1, Panthéon Sorbonne) in 2012. She is member of the International Advisory Board of Mexican Studies/ Estudios Mexicanos and editor of a series on global social policy with Palgrave (together with colleagues from the CRC 1342).

Her publications include among others: Siedler und Filibuster in Sonora (2003), Viajeros y migrantes franceses en la América española durante el siglo XIX (2007, ed. with Chantal Cramaussel, 2 vols), Film und Geschichte (2015) and Reality Unbound. New Departures in Science Fiction Cinema (2017 ed. together with Power, Aidan/ Pauleit, Winfried).
