Vesi Vuković

Vesi Vuković is YUFE4Postdocs - Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral Fellow, co-funded by the European Union. She is hosted by University of Bremen, under supervision of Prof Dr Winfried Pauleit, and co-hosted by the University of Essex, under co-supervision of Prof Dr Sanja Bahun.

Vuković’s postdoctoral research project is entitled “Films by Yugoslav Women Filmmakers: Image, Sonic Icons, Lack of Digitisation, and Gender”. It is on Yugoslav women directors, their films which she closely analyses, on their memory as a part of Yugoslav heritage, that is, the state of their preservation in the archives and the prospects of digitization.

Vuković is also the holder of Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg: Institute for Advanced Study (the HWK) Associate Junior Postdoctoral Fellowship. At the HWK, she will organise a workshop on the theme of Yugoslav film workers and their films.

Vuković obtained her PhD in Film Studies and Visual Culture at University of Antwerp in Belgium.
