Paul A. Schroeder Rodríguez

Paul A. Schroeder Rodríguez is from Puerto Rico and currently serves as the R. John Cooper '64 Presidential Teaching Professor of Spanish at Amherst College. His publications include a book on Cuba's foremost film director Tomás Gutiérrez Alea: The Dialectics of a Filmmaker (New York and London: Routledge, 2002), a comprehensive history of Latin American narrative cinema Latin American Cinema: A Comparative History (Oakland: University of California Press, 2016), and essays on community-based filmmaking in Abiayala.  In his courses he uses a variety of pedagogical methodologies, including circle practice, embodied learning, and community-engaged research.
