Christian Dewald

Christian Dewald is a film historian and pedagogue. He works as a researcher in the FWF-funded project “Educational Film Practice in Austria” (2019–2023) at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Digital History and as a specialist assistant for clients on the autism spectrum at Austrian federal schools in Vienna. His research interests include Austrian film history, Austrian working-class cinema, urban history (especially Red Vienna), historical educational research, reform pedagogy movements, and curative education (Heilpädagogik).
