Mason Kamana Allred is an assistant professor of Communication and Media Studies at Brigham Young University, Hawaii. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in German history and culture with an emphasis in Film and Media Studies.
His interdisciplinary work has appeared in venues such as the Journal of the American Academy of Religion, Jewish Studies Quarterly, and the Journal of Popular Culture. He is the author of the book Weimar Cinema, Embodiment, and Historicity (Routledge 2017).
His research interests include silent historical films, media archaeology, and religion.
